Parenting Amid Chaos
Just came home from Midland Heights Seventh-day Adventist Church here in Bermuda. They held a ShareHim Parenting Seminar for church and community called “Parenting Amid Chaos” - awesome. Had reps from Department of Youth and Sports, Social Workers (Katherina Gibbons), Teachers (Marion Smith), and a probation officer and pastor (Dr. Ernest Peets, Jr), all ably monitored by the principal of Bermuda Institute (Dr. Lois Tucker). Great job. Kudos to Judith Brooks, Troy and Georgina Dill, and their minister, Pastor Damon Hendrickson. Saturday afternoon October 4, 2008, 4:00-7:00pm at the Francis Patton School is the Heights’ parenting fair - drop in even for a few minutes. Show them some love give them some support! Dr. Peets commented that he is often uncomfortable with phrase “it takes a village to raise a child” often elevates the responsibility of the community to the extent that parental responsibility is reduced. So my question for the president’s file is this: Does it take a village to raise a child? Post a comment on my blog.

It’s great to see the church in action.

God gave us children on loan, so we have the awesome resposibility of nuturing the lives that He holds so precious as parents at large.
Back to the good old days.
